Money and Intuition

Among all the books published over the last two decades and dealing with spiritual development, an often-threaded subject is the financial success of those taking up particular paths. Very often authors of those books identify and relate financial success with the ability to create their own image from their intuitional state of being. Is that really the case however and, if so, are all who maintain their creative life in harmony with their feelings and intuition also financially prosperous? From another perspective: is one wealth an indication of the level of his or her integration with their own higher consciousness?

In the history of the world there were many, significant spiritual leaders. Jesus and Buddha have the highest recognition among most people. In their lives and work they doubtlessly drew inspiration from the intuitional level, however there is no mention of them hoarding material goods.

My personal observations on creativity - guided by my intuitional wisdom have lead me to conclusions that may be hard to accept. Creativity that we pursue as part of our self-actualization can, but doesn't have to, be related to financial success. Similarly, achievements within the material realm do not have to (and most often do not) be related to creativity leading to self-knowledge through experiences.

Why then does creativity that stems from the wisdom of our feelings is attractive even though we attain it by experiencing pain and suffering rather than from pursuit of wealth. From my personal perspective, the greatest reward - besides experiencing my life in harmony with oneself - is expanding the sphere of freedom and resulting from this state unabashed happiness. The choice is ours.
